Creating Opportunities for Educational Success
Educational Talent Search is a pre-college program that provides
educational services, information, and counseling to eligible
participants interested in pursuing postsecondary educational programs.
Educational Talent Search is one of the federal TRIO programs,
authorized by Title IV of the Higher Educational Act of 1965. Its
legislative purpose is to help participants complete high school and to
successfully enter postsecondary educational programs. TRIO programs
help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to higher
education.
Eligibility
Student must have completed the fifth grade and be under 27 years of age
and reside in Baltimore County. Two –thirds of our students must be low
income which is defined as 150 percent of the poverty level, and be a
first-generation college student, i.e. neither of his or her parents has
received a baccalaureate degree.
