External Scholarships

The following scholarship information is being provided as a result of information submitted to the Financial Aid Office. This page in no way represents all external scholarships available to CCBC students. The information provided is an introduction. Click on the specific scholarship to obtain more details and application information.

The Mary Rubin and Benjamin M.
Rubin Scholarship Fund

500 - 2,500 per year

3.0 GPA; female permanent resident of Maryland with demonstrated financial need; must have been out of high school for at least 12 months;
Application deadline is March 1 of each year.

HIAS Scholarship Program

1,500

Refugees and asylees who were assisted by HIAS to come to the U.S. must have immigrated after January 1, 1992; must have completed one full year of study at any combination of U.S. high school, undergraduate or graduate college; applicants judged in academics, financial need and Jewish communal involvement
Application deadline is March 15 of each year

DE-DC-MD ASFAA, Inc. Scholarship

2.5 GPA for undergraduates; 3.0 GPA for graduate or professional students; must have completed at least one year of his/her program of study; financial need required; must also submit an essay and letter of recommendation along with the scholarship application to the Financial Aid Director of student's current institution
Application deadline is February 17, 2006

Dwight P. Jacobus Scholarship

3.0 GPA; resident of Maryland or the District of Columbia for at least one year preceding the date of the award; full time business or education major with demonstrated financial need;
Application deadline is March 1 of each year

DC Tuition Assistance Program Varies

The College Access Act establishes a program that enables college-bound residents of the District of Columbia to have greater choices among institutions of higher education. The program will provide tuition assistance to eligible students who attend eligible institutions.

Application deadline is June 30 of each year.

 

The community colleges of Maryland have worked together to produce a scholarship guide for community college students transferring to various four year institutions. This guide is available in the Financial Aid Office and can also be accessed on the Maryland Higher Education Commission website. The booklet, entitled 'Transfer Scholarship Guide For Maryland Community College Students', provides information on scholarships offered by four year institutions as well as a few Maryland community colleges.
