Program Benefits

In addition to the challenge of honor courses, being a member of the Honors Program has several other benefits as well:

  • All honors courses, whether honors sections of existing courses or honors seminars, will be identified as honors courses on the student's college transcript.

  • Honors students are assigned a faculty mentor who can provide career counseling and academic advisement. These mentors can be especially helpful in planning for and arranging transfer to a four-year institution.

  • Honors classes are small, with enrollment limited to seventeen.

  • The program sponsors social and cultural events throughout the year.

  • Become an automatic member of the Student Honors Council (SHC).

  • Graduates of the Program are guaranteed admission at the College of Notre Dame, Coppin State College, Goucher College, McDaniel College, Morgan State University, Towson University, University of Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and University of Maryland College Park.
