Effective 07/01/07 the college changed its policy regarding the subsidizing of retiree health benefits. The chart below is a comparison of the old policy and the new policy. The new policy applies to all new full-time staff hired on or after 07/01/07.

Prescription Drug Benefits
All medical plans provide prescription coverage. Premium included in the medical care plan.

Mental Health
Emotional, drug/alcohol abuse treatment, both inpatient and outpatient, provided when pre-approved. Premium included in medical care plan.

Dental Benefits ( CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield)

Vision Benefits ( CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield administered by Davis Vision )
BlueVision Standard
Eye exam, frames, lenses, contacts once every 24 months.
85% college-paid premium.

Flexible Spending Accounts (Plan Document):
Managed through FlexAmerica. Accounts are for health and dependent care out of pocket expenses. The maximum annual limit for a health care account is $5,000 and the maximum annual limit for a dependent care account is $5,000.

FINANCIAL BENEFITS
Life Insurance
Coverage equal to 1.5 x annual salary, maximum of $50,000.
90% college paid premium.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Provides insurance against covered accidents. Full premium paid by employee.

Long-Term Disability
Plan pays 60% of salary after disabled 90 calendar days. Employee pays 100% of premium.

Retirement Plans
Maryland State Teacher’s Pension System (4% contributory, will change to 5% after 7/1/08) or Optional Retirement Plan (non-contributory) or Baltimore County Employees’ Retirement System (6% contributory).

Supplemental (Retirement Annuities)
Tax-sheltered annuities – 403(b). Payroll salary rededuction authorization needed. Details available from each company.

Deferred Compensation Plan - 457(b) offered through ING. Payroll deferred compensation salary rededuction authorization needed. See Human Resources for application.

Legal Services
Through Legal Resources, employees can get advice, consultation and courtroom representation for commonly used legal services. Plan Summary

Credit Union
First Financial Federal Credit Union membership available to employees.

U.S. Savings Bonds
Payroll deductions may be authorized for the purchase of United States Savings Bonds.

Payroll Direct Deposit
Available to all employees.

WORK/FAMILY

Employee Assistance Program:

Paid Leave Benefits


Academic – one day per year
Bereavement –5 consecutive days for immediate family, 1 day for other close relative.
Sick Leave –during first year, one day of leave for each month worked. In succeeding years, earn one and one-half days. No limit to accrual.
Illness in Family – may use 4 days per year of sick leave days, accumulates to maximum of 8 days.
Jury Duty – absences without loss of pay for jury duty or for a summons.
Religious Holidays – 2 days per year for major religious holidays not in regular school calendar.
Military Leave – member of Reserve or Guard granted 15 days per year to participate in military training.
Sabbatical – after 7 years of service, applies to faculty and administrators for purpose of professional improvement.
Personal - 3 days per year, prorated to hire date

Vacation Benefits
Accrued at rate of 20 days per year for administrators and 12-month faculty. For Classified employees, accrued at rate of 10 days per year at hire, with increases every 5 years to maximum of 20.

Holiday Benefits
12 paid holidays, including winter and spring recess.

Tuition Assistance
Eligible full-time employees may qualify for waiver or reimbursement programs. Spouses and legal dependents up to age 22 are eligible for reimbursement with proof of successful completion of CCBC credit classes. Employees eligible for Tuition Assistance become eligible for the External Tuition Reimbursement program the first semester beginning after one calendar year of employment. Eligibility for waiver or reimbursement for CCBC courses begins after the completion of probation, if applicable.

Academic Cash Award
Lump sum award of $500 for Classified employee’s receipt of unduplicated college degree.

Mandated Federal Benefits
Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, Social Security.

Child Care Centers
Licensed child care centers are on each campus. Fees paid by parents.
