Prospective Students
International students who are applying outside of the United States are encouraged to send their application and supporting documents by the following dates:
Fall Semester: June 1
Spring Semester: November 1
New F-1 Applicants
The Community College of Baltimore County requires international students to complete the equivalent of an American High School Diploma.
The following documents must be submitted to the Admissions Office before the application will be considered for admission:
• A completed Application for Admissions to CCBC and pay $15.00 fee.
• TOEFL score of 450 (paper-based), 133 (computer-based), 45-46 (internet- based).
- TOEFL examination dates and information may be obtained through the American Consulate or Embassy or TOEFL Web Site . Results will be reported to CCBC by indicating the college’s institutional codes: CCBC Catonsville 5137, CCBC Dundalk 5176 and CCBC Essex 5192.
- TOEFL is not required if English is the applicant's first language or course equivalent to English 101, College Composition, has been successfully completed with a grade of "C" or higher in a U.S. College or University..
•Original or certified copy of high school transcript (including verification of graduation) and transcript(s) from college(s) attended in any country.
- Transcripts should be accompanied by an English translation certified by a recognized authority. Students seeking advanced standing for college or university course work completed outside of the U.S. will need to request a full course-by-course evaluation of their transcript(s).

• A notarized Declaration of Financial Support Form and financial statement confirming a minimum of $16,670 (U.S dollars) for one academic year. Students accompanied by their families must provide additional evidence of $3,000 for their spouse and $1,500 for each child.

After all documents are received in the Admissions Office, admission and eligibility for the I-20 will be determined by the International Student Advisor. Applicants who meet all the requirements for admission will be sent an acceptance letter and I-20 form. Individuals who are applying outside the United States must present the I-20 form and evidence of financial support to the nearest American Consulate or Embassy. Applicants transferring from another college or university within the US who meet all requirements to CCBC for admission will be issued an acceptance letter and I-20 form. To complete the transfer process, applicants will need to meet with a CCBC International Student Advisor.
The American Consulate or Embassy and the Department of US Citizenship and Immigration Services, not the college, makes the final decision on granting the F-1 student visa. A student with an F-1 visa is required to enroll full-time for a minimum of 12 credits/billable hours during the fall and spring semesters and will be charged the out-of-country tuition rate. At CCBC, financial aid and many scholarships are not available to F-1 students. Students will be expected to continue to pay for all their expenses including tuition, fees, books, transportation, health insurance, housing, and food for the duration of their studies at CCBC. All tuition, fees, and book costs should be paid at the time of registration.

Change of status students within the United States
Non-immigrants, who desire to change their status within the US to F-1 student visa, are required to apply for change of status first.
Can other non-immigrants pursue studies in the U.S.?
Yes, Dependents of A, G, H, L, E, and I aliens may study on a full- or part-time basis. Workers in the B-2, H-1, H-4, L-1, and E-1 or E-2 categories can pursue secondary educational activities as long as the educational activity is not the alien’s primary activity.

9- Copies of Affidavit of support, bank statement, or other proof of sufficient funding

10- Copies of spouse or dependents’ I-20’s
Individuals who are in the US on a temporary visa should contact the Admissions Office to have the application and visa documents reviewed BEFORE registering for classes. A student with a temporary visa will pay the out-of-country tuition rate and may be limited to credit hour enrollment according to federal, state, and college regulations. Individuals who hold B-1 and B-2 visas are not admissible to CCBC per the Department of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services' regulations effective April 12, 2002.

Transferring to CCBC
Students are encouraged to present all documents to the admissions office by the following dates:
• Spring Admissions – January 1
• Summer admissions _ May 1
• Fall Admissions _ August 1
In addition, the following are required
1- Original 1-20 from the previously attended school
2- Completed college Application for Admissions and $15 fee
3- Transcripts from any colleges previously attended. Official English translated version of the high school transcript (graduation verification)
4- Financial statement on bank letterhead translated into English and US currency. Funds must be at least $16,000.
5- A notarized Declaration of Financial Support Form.
6- Personal Data Information Form indicating address in home country, local address, and emergency information.
7- Transfer Eligibility Form from the originating college or university indicating SEVIS release date from previous institution.

Estimated Total Costs for CCBC International Students for an Academic Year (2 semesters)
$6,594 = Tuition and fees @ $261 per billable hour (based on a minimum of 12 credits/semester for two semesters
$10,076 = Personal expenses e.g., health insurance, books and supplies, housing, food, health insurance, laundry, clothing, transportation, entertainment, etc.
$16,670 = Grand Total
