Related Course: History and Culture of Tuscany and Umbria, a non-credit course is being offered at CCBC Essex to compliment this trip. This course will enable students to learn the history, culture, and landscape of Italy, with special emphasis on Tuscany and Umbria and their distinct culture, important to Italy's history. Topics will include: history of Italy; life in Italy; characteristics of Tuscany and Umbria; food; myths, folk stories and traditions; and landscapes.

Join us for this wonderful trip to Italy to see the beautiful cities and villages of Tuscany and Umbria! This trip will include sightseeing in Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Brunello, Cortona, Perugia, Orvieto and Rome. We will visit the famous vineyards of the region, including Brunello di Montalcino and Orvieto. We will also enjoy a Tuscan cooking class in beautiful Florence. There will be time to marvel over the Italian masterpieces of art and architecture and the medieval towns and villages of the region. We'll wrap up with a two-night stay in the Eternal City of Rome.
There is the possibility of a two-night, post-tour extension in Rome, giving you the opportunity to further explore the grandeur of the Roman Empire. You'll also have time to tour Vatican City, where you'll find Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Basilica and the incredible Sistine Chapel. Extension is available on select departure dates and space is limited. Please call early to hold your spot. Extension also requires a minimum of 10 travelers.
