International Student Services

Congratulations on your admission to CCBC!

Everyone looks forward to welcoming you to CCBC! Soon after your arrival in Baltimore, please come to CCBC International Student Services in Building K, room 102 on the Catonsville campus or Building A, room 220 on the Essex campus, to say 'hello' and let us help you get started. In the meantime, here is some important information about the entry process.

First, you may want to review the online orientation materials that will help prepare you for studying at CCBC and in the USA.

Second, if you are still in your home country, you may want to review the health insurance information and consider the best way for you to purchase the required insurance.

Third, after you arrive in Baltimore, here are the next steps to take to become a registered student.

  1. Report to ISS early (Nov. 1-Jan. 20 for Spring and May 1-Aug 10 for Fall). An international student counselor will help determine which placement tests you are required to take.
  2. Review and take placement tests in English and Math.
  3. Attend an orientation specifically for international students (ISOAR) or complete the online orientation.
  4. Meet with an international student counselor to discuss test results and academic goals.
  5. Register for classes.
  6. Obtain your CCBC student ID card.
  7. Pay for classes.
  8. Pay for health insurance or show proof of insurance coverage and complete a waiver form.
  9. Create a user name and password for your SIMON (Student Info. Management Online Network) and sign up for your CCBC email.
  10. Attend the mandatory SEVIS Orientation Program where you will sign a new I-20 that verifies your enrollment.
  11. Start classes. (Here are Faculty Secrets to Getting an "A")
