LEH: Talking about Diversity

This learning community allows you to fulfill adiversity requirement in additin to two general education requirements - one in Humanities and the other in Social Sciences. In this community, you will read, write, and complete research related to race, clas, and gender issues. The contents of both courses are integrated so that the skills and subjects taught ove course related to and reinforce those taught in the other course. This is a great pairing of courses that you won't want to miss!

LEK: Writing About Society
SOCL 101 (24124) and ENGL 102 (20106)
This learning community will focus on issues concerning labor, working in American society. ENGL 102 will advance students' writing skills using the course content of the Sociology course, which examines individual and societal identity and behaviors, thereby reinforcing students' engagement with course content. The English course will provide students with instructional materials on planning, writing and revising essays, as well as some supplemental content material related to the Sociology course content. Students will work collaboratively across the two courses to deepen an understanding of sociological issues and to strengthen writing ability.
