Getting Access to
CCBC Catonsville Library Online
Services
Creating and using a password in the CCBC Catonsville Library system
Why do you need a password in the library system?
Having a password(PIN) will allow you to search the library’s
subscription databases from home, view your library record to see what
library materials you have checked out, overdue, or on hold, submit
electronic interlibrary loan requests, and use electronic reserves.
Who can create a password?
Currently registered students and employees at the Community College of
Baltimore County, whose names have been entered into the library system.
Ask at the Circulation Desk if you are not sure of your status in the
library system.
Creating your password
On Patron Login
screen enter your:
-full name
-CCBC Identification number (your Social Security number or the ID
number the college has assigned to you in place of your Social Security
number.)
-password(PIN) of your choice (a password(PIN) may be up to 30
characters long and can utilize both letters and numbers; it will be
case sensitive)
Choose Display record for person named above.
The system will prompt you to enter your password(PIN) of choice two
more times. Be sure to enter them identically both times.
Again, choose Display record for person named above.
You will see your library record and can now use your password(PIN)
anytime you are prompted for it.
Using your password to access the library’s subscription databases
from home:
Go to
Magazines, Journals and Newspapers to locate and select the database
you want to use.
The library system will then bring up a patron verification request
screen.
Fill in the requested information and select Submit.
You will then be granted access to the database.
