Circulating Book Collection:
Contains over 100,000 volumes
on general and course related subjects as well as volumes of poetry
and fiction. These materials are located on the upper floors of the
library.
Reference Collection:
Located on the Main floor and
contains a variety of encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks,
bibliographies, indexes and abstracts, and other helpful sources of
information on specific subjects, such as "coins" or "wildflowers,"
and on more general subject fields such as "art" or "transportation."
Periodical Collection:
Contains over 800 titles of
general, recreational, and course related magazines as well as
newspapers. Current periodicals and older issues, either bound or on
microform, are located on the Third floor.
Vertical File:
This pamphlet collection contains many
interesting ephemeral "tidbits" of information on a variety of
topics of local and general interest. The Vertical File cabinets are
located on the Main floor. Materials may be circulated from this
collection according to instructions posted.
Wilmer Room Collection:
Located on the Third floor,
contains special, sometimes rare, volumes of local history and fine
printing. These books are noted in the catalog and may be requested
at the Circulation Desk for use in the library.
Government Documents:
Documents from federal, state, and
local agencies are collected in areas similar to those of the
collection in general, and are integrated into the regular
collections of the library, including books, periodicals, and the
Vertical File.
Media Collection:
Located on the First floor, includes
films, videotapes, recordings, slides, and other formats of media
software that generally support areas of the curriculum. Most of the
material is used in the library or in classroom instruction and does
not circulate.
