Below are some suggestions of research resources that will be helpful for your assignment.

Tips Books Journals, Magazines and Legal cases Web Resources Citing Sources

Research Tips for finding material for your assignment:

  • Exact Amendment: Textbook, US Government Manual. USCA Code
  • Description of Amendment: some books below, database articles (Criminal Justice, Social Science Index Full text...some web sites*)
  • History of Amendment: Books, History Resource Center Database, other articles from databases, web sites*.
  • Supreme Court Cases: Database-West Law, Supreme Court Reporter, some books( The Words We Live By, In Our Defense*) and web sites.

Books and Media: Use the Online Library Catalog to find material in the criminal justice and legal field. We use Library of Congress system with criminal justice in the HV 6000 section, Law and Constitution in the K and JK section.

Searching the Library Catalog Hints: Do a subject search on constitution and see broad topics or narrow the search with keyword searching connecting terms with AND
(EX: constitution and first amendment) or do a phrase search and put in quotes (EX: first amendment”, “due process”)
