Search the Web
Below are a few of the different web search tools to find information on the Web:

are short cuts for finding better web sites. Only web sites evaluated by a librarian or expert in their field are listed.
are computer programs that scan the contents of the web. Keywords typed in the search box link to web sites with your search words.
are human-selected Internet resources that are arranged by subject. Best to use with a broad topic.

simultaneously uses other search engines. They are not comprehensive but retrieve top hits from each search engine.

includes information not usually available with a search engine. The Invisible, Opaque or Deep Web is made up of content that search engines either can't or won't index.
