Dundalk Library Renovation
Information on learning spaces and library renovation.
General Information on Learning Spaces:
EDUCAUSE - is a nonprofit
association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting
the intelligent use of information technology.
Web Sites:
Share your Building Project - a web site, created by the journal and
the Library Administration and Management Association, that allows
readers to look in one place for information on library building
projects from across the country and search by footage, cost, special
features, and location. The web site also provides a way to find
architects, consultants, and suppliers of library furniture. The article
encourages readers to submit information on library building projects.
Building Projects
Database - this will be a reality at projects.libraryjournal.com via
the new Building Projects Database, developed by Library Journal in
partnership with Library Administration and Management Association
Libris Design is a library
facility planning information system which includes a website with
recent information on facility planning topics, a database of recently
constructed California public libraries, an area for users to
communicate with each other, user help documentation and a trial version
of the Libris Design database.
Libris Design
Planning Documentation - many links to documents on acoustics,
daylight design, furniture, stacks and shelving...
WebJunction's
Focus on Space Planning for Libraries - Careful space planning in
the initial stages of a building or renovation project can help to
ensure its success. There are many resources available to help you
calculate the space requirements for library programs, services, and
collections.
Presenting Space Needs Analyses and Examples of Library
Building Programs - The space requirements can be presented in a simple
one page Space
Allocation Chart or a more detailed document, a Space
Needs Assessment. These documents would be the basis for a more
detailed building program.
