Content Management System puts faculty and staff
in the Web driver’s seat With the advent of CCBC’s new
Content Management System (CMS), faculty and staff are now capable of
and responsible for editing their own Web pages, utilizing standardized
templates and establishing their own internal approval systems.
Navigating the InnerLoop takes practice, but is
well worth the trip Launched at the beginning of the Fall 2003
semester, the InnerLoop is a Web-based intranet platform for CCBC
faculty and staff communication, affording employees the opportunity to
share information and documents by way of “communities.”
School of Applied Information Technology offers
only Red Hat Academy in Maryland CCBC’s School of Applied
Information Technology’s (SAIT) Red Hat Academy, the only one of its
kind in Maryland, provides training and certification for Linux system
professionals. Today Red Hat is the world's most trusted provider of

Center for Learning and Teaching Excellence
promotes intellectual growth Under the direction of Chris
Justice, English instructor, the CCBC Catonsville Center for Learning
and Teaching Excellence works to provide learning opportunities for
faculty and staff.
Seniors call a ‘CAB’ en route to the information
superhighway Through a partnership with the Baltimore County
Department of Aging, CCBC’s Occupational Training Center (OTC) selected
five senior citizens to be part of pilot program that would allow them
to update their computer skills with Computer Applications for Business
(CAB). The goal of this training was to help seniors become more
employable.
CCBC establishes partnership with community
college in St. Lucia As a result of a summer visit by CCBC staff,
administrators and faculty members, the college has initiated several
projects with Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), located on the
Caribbean island of St. Lucia, one of the windward islands of the Lesser
Antilles.
Professors put caring and sharing into action
As long as there are people without food or shelter – as the result of a
natural disaster like Hurricane Isabel or just due to unfortunate life
circumstances – CCBC Professors Jonathan and Betsey Collins will feel
compelled to lend a helping hand.
Watercolor seminar features Maryland marine artist
Noted Maryland watercolor artist James Drake Iams recently presented a
three-workshop series on watercolor painting through the Senior
Institute at CCBC Hunt Valley.
Make the ‘CCBC Connection’ to share news and
events with county residents CCBC Connections is a lively
and informative half-hour television program featuring interviews with
campus newsmakers, leaders, academic and career program coordinators,
student services coordinators, interesting CCBC students, staff and more.
