Awards being Accepted by Dr. Mcphail and Comptroller Schaefer Chancellor Irving Pressley McPhail (back row right) was in good company as he and Maryland Comptroller William Donald Schaefer (back row center) accepted awards from The Boy Scouts of America’s Learning for Life program. Ira Albert It wasn’t much of an artistic stretch for Ira Albert, professor of Psychology, to play the role of a teacher grading papers. Albert’s moment in the spotlight was used as “B-roll” (footage that accompanies a voice-over) in a segment created by a local production company for use by ABC television affiliates nationwide. The feature focused on the abuse of hyperactivity drugs Ritalin and Adderall by students who use them as study aids. (click photo for more)

Golf Tourney Woody Powell (left), director of Corporate/Foundation Relations at CCBC Essex, accepts a check representing proceeds from the Essex Middle River Civic Council's Golf Tournament from Jack Shultz, an active member of the Council and a lead organizer of the annual event. Held each June at Rocky Point Golf Course, the tournament raised more than $8,700 this year on behalf of scholarship programs at CCBC Essex and has contributed more than $30,000 to the ECC Foundation in the past five years. Costume Winners It was a rootin’ tootin’ good time at the annual year-end campus celebration at CCBC Dundalk. There was plenty of good food, music, games and prizes at the western-themed event in June. Staffers Alvin Wienecke, Jr. (left), Loretta Funk (center) and Joanne Miller took home prizes for their creative costumes. (click photo for more)
