Star Parties Shine at CCBC Dundalk Observatory
Stargazers invited to enjoy the view
Baltimore County, Md. - Calling all sky-watchers and stargazers! Catch the dazzling “showcase of stars” at the Community College of Baltimore County Dundalk Campus Observatory’s star parties. Located at 7200 Sollers Point Road, the observatory is fully handicap accessible, which allows everyone to enjoy the free, sparkling presentation put on by the stars, planets and other heavenly bodies.
Upcoming shows will be held on the following Friday evenings:
March 13, 8 – 10 p.m.
March 27, 8 – 10 p.m.
April 17, 8 – 10 p.m.
May 1, 8 – 10 p.m.
Star parties are public events that offer participants the opportunity to bring their own telescopes or make use of the facility’s equipment. Some star gazers engage in “naked-eye astronomy,” identifying stars and constellations sans a telescope. Others make use of the observatory’s Celestron 14-inch CGE 1400 XL telescope to get a more up-close and personal view.
If conditions look potentially cloudy or rainy, please check for cancellations by calling 410-282-3092 approximately 45 minutes before the scheduled start time.
All activities are free and open to the public. For more information call 443-840-4216.
