Enroll now in the Male Student Success Initiative
Program focuses on increasing the college success rate of African-American males
Leadership, persistence and accountability are at the foundation of the new Male Student Success program, an initiative geared toward helping African-American males attending CCBC succeed in college.
Participating students will receive additional support to help build a framework that will lead them to academic success. Dedicated staff, mentors and proactive academic advisors will guide students along the way. Students will have access to tutoring and counseling, and will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural events and activities.
Additionally, students can receive $100 for active participation in the program as well as a monetary award of up to $500 for academic achievement.
To qualify, a student must be an African-American male, need no more than one developmental course, agree to enroll in nine or more credits (including math and English), sign a contractual agreement, and agree to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Orientation for the program begins Wednesday, Aug. 20; however, students can be enrolled through early September.
