Kevin Richmond CCBC student
Starting smart When Carney, Md. resident Kevin Richmond was deciding on college, CCBC offered the best of both worlds – convenience and affordability. “I always wanted to be an engineer, and knowing how expensive it could be to get my degree, I opted to start at CCBC,” says Kevin.
Like many CCBC students, Kevin’s schedule is packed with work and school responsibilities, and that definitely cuts into his leisure time. But in the spare time he does have, Kevin enjoys collecting model cars and tinkering with his 1998 Dodge Dakota truck.
Engineering a future Kevin, 19, takes both day and evening classes at CCBC Essex and has earned more than 40 credits so far. This semester he’s enrolled in Calculus I, Health 101 and Introduction to Computers. Kevin has been a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) scholarship recipient for the past three semesters.
In order to expand his career options, Kevin plans to take some courses in the automotive technology program on the Catonsville campus next year. “I’m a car enthusiast and this will give me great background whether I opt for automotive engineering or not.”
Kevin Richmond has a master plan for his future and he’s paving the way at CCBC.
