The Concept Based Nursing Curriculum

The CCBC Nursing curriculum is based on the nursing process and is designed to encourage critical thinking and to promote emphasis on nursing care. The curriculum is built on a foundation of knowledge attained in general education which includes the disciplines of mathematics, the natural and social sciences, and the humanities and arts.

Threads are the components integral to the provision of nursing care. Concepts are the classification system for the delivery of nursing education and are organized into four categories: biophysical, psychosocial, life phases, and professional practice.
