Faculty Definition

Definition

The faculty and professional staff of the Community College of Baltimore County shall consist of the president of the campus, deans, directors, full-time instructional staff, counselors, librarians, and professional administrative staff whose positions require at least the bachelor’s degree, or have been deemed administrative through approved methodology as well as other full-time members of the professional staff whom may be added because of educational responsibilities.

Role of the Faculty and Professional Staff

The faculty and professional staff as a body shall be the expert professional agency to which responsibility for developing and controlling the academic program is committed, under the leadership of the Chancellor and within the framework of the educational objectives established by the Board of Trustees.

The faculty and professional staff shall prescribe, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees, requirements for admission, curricula, conditions of graduation and rules and methods for the conduct of educational work of the college.
