Appointment of New Faculty and Professional Staff Members

All faculty and professional staff are appointed by the Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the President of the College Candidates are selected, reviewed, and appraised by the appropriate deans in consultation with department chairperson and/or other staff members.

Before any offer of employment is made, candidates for professional or faculty positions at the College are required to complete the application form and other personnel forms and submit to Human Resources Office.

Job descriptions may be obtained from the appropriate Human Resources Office. Job Description should also be posted on the college website. Faculty should also be able to get it from the department chair and division deans.

After a decision is made to advertise for an additional faculty and professional staff position, the College determines the specific rank(s) or administrative level(s)at which the position will be offered. The specific criteria are listed in the advertisement and are based on the minimum requirements for rank or administrative level.

Prior to an applicant's appointment, a formal statement will be prepared by the dean describing the applicant's formal academic training and previous experience including the number of years of work experience for which the applicant will be credited. This statement will begin a record on academic experience in the faculty member's file to which the faculty member should add courses or degrees by the submission of evidence of completion of initial placement .
