New Employee Orientation

Top of Page

Group orientation sessions will be scheduled every month for two days on the Catonsville Campus to provide newly hired CCBC benefit-eligible employees with the necessary information they need to be successful in their new jobs. The Human Resources staff will provide information on employee benefits and key institutional policies and procedures and basic computer systems will be introduced (Banner basics, Outlook, SharePoint and the Employee Self-Serve system.) New employees are automatically invited to attend this orientation. Unless otherwise noted, Day 1 will be in room AF205 F from 9AM to 4:30PM and Day 2 will be in the Employee Technology Center (room F-113) from 9AM to 12PM.

Orientations will be canceled during any month when there will be less than 3 participants. Affected new employees will be notified and asked to schedule an individual appointment to obtain benefits information. They will have the option to attend the next scheduled Orientation session.

Orientation is mandatory for new employees starting or moving into a benefit eligible position. Current full time employees who are already benefit eligible that are moving to a new position should not attend. All new benefit eligible employees regardless of position should have the Basic Outlook, SharePoint, and Employee Self-Serve technology training. Employees in positions that do not require Banner training will complete Technology training by 11:15AM.

New employees who are unable (due to extenuating circumstances) to attend Orientation must contact HR to schedule an appointment to receive information and instructions for enrolling in their benefit programs. Employees who are unable to attend the technology training should contact the campus ETC to schedule appropriate training.

Please contact HR at 443-840-5150 if you have any questions.

Appreciative Inquiry Facilitation

Top of Page

Using Appreciative Inquiry methodology, a group of CCBC faculty and staff has been trained and certified to assist CCBC schools, departments and other internal groups in discovering what is positive about themselves. Generally two co-facilitators work together and groups of any size can be facilitated. This methodology can be used for strategic planning, problem solving, team building and a variety of other purposes. To discuss how this methodology may work for you, please use the contact information below.

MEET On Common Ground

Top of Page

Do you often wonder how to handle instances of conflict better? Do you sometimes think of what you SHOULD HAVE said, long after the conversation is over? Come and learn a simple method -- The MEET model -- to use the next time. MEET is an acronym for the four steps in dealing with conflict based upon differences. The sessions below are open to everyone. In addition, this training may be tailored to particular workplace settings and situations upon special arrangement by department supervisors.
