Theft from Auto Arrest

Dear Colleagues:

On Wednesday, October 06, 2004 an arrest was made as a result of an ongoing investigation into a rash of break-ins and thefts from vehicles, primarily on the Essex campus, parking lot 1. It should be noted that this arrest may not have occurred without the cooperation of two student witnesses who observed suspicious activity and reported it to Public Safety officials who apprehended the suspect.

This incident should serve as a reminder that preventing campus crime is a shared responsibility between CCBC Public Safety and all members of the college community.

PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING SAFETY TIPS:

  • Do not leave vehicles unlocked
  • Do not leave windows in vehicles open
  • Secure all convertible roofs
  • Do not leave valuables in vehicles
  • Secure valuables in the trunk out of sight
  • Do not attach your name or license tag number to your key ring
