S.T.E.M. Scholarship Program

 
 
 

The STEM Scholarship Program at CCBC will award two non-need-based $1000 scholarships to selected applicants who meet the criteria. These awards will be made as $500 for Fall 2005, renewable for an additional $500 for Spring 2006 if criteria are maintained, including completion of 12 credits in Fall 2005 with GPA 2.5 or higher. STEM Scholarship students who continue in the program will be placed in STEM career-related internships after their successful completion of 30 STEM credits.

Requirements for all STEM Scholarship applicants:

  1. Complete application form. Due in office by Sept. 15 (for Fall 2005) or Dec 15 (for Spring 2006). Bring or mail to: Sylvia Sorkin, STEM Scholarship Application, CCBC Essex Campus, F410, 7201 Rossville Blvd., Baltimore, MD 21237
  2. Write and attach an essay on why you should be allowed to participate in the STEM Scholarship Program and also what your STEM career goal is; 250 words maximum, typed and double spaced.
  3. Attach a letter of recommendation from a college instructor from a previous STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) class.
  4. Must be current CCBC student, full-time in Fall 2005, in one of these 7 associate degree programs: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Computer Science.
  5. Attach recent college transcript showing you have earned 36 or more credits in the last two years at CCBC with GPA 2.5 or higher.
