The purpose of The Center is to assist faculty and staff in the performance of their assignments through formal and informal programs and to provide a quiet, welcoming place where they can meet, read, work, or relax.

Responsibilities of the Center

  • Act as an "information center" for faculty and staff development
  • Promote the goals and spirit of a LearningFirst college
  • Serve as a primary bridge that connects student services staff with faculty
  • Sponsor workshops about innovative teaching methods and other topics of critical interest to CCBC faculty and staff
  • Collaborate with CCBC’s Council for Innovation in Student Learning to help administer grants, offer professional development opportunities, and other related initiatives
  • Coordinate informal social activities that help faculty and staff connect
  • Provide newspapers, magazines, books, and journals about professional development
  • Survey faculty and staff to address professional needs
  • Provide a comfortable coffee lounge for the informal gathering of faculty and staff
