Finger Lakes, NY -- The Wine, the Glass, the Geology
Saturday, May 3 - Sunday, May 4, 2008

Join the Travel Studies Office and Don Stahl (retired Geography and Wines of the World instructor) for this two day tour featuring several wineries and Corning Glass. After a breakfast/rest stop at the Country Cupboard in Lewisburg, PA, we'll visit the Bully Hill Vineyards in Hammondsport, NY for a tour, tasting and some shopping. Then it's Glenora Wine Cellars in Dundee, NY, where we'll have the opportunity to taste a few of their most popular wines. We'll check into the Radisson Hotel Corning for the evening. The Radisson is in the heart of Corning so the evening will be free and you'll have plenty of options for dining and shopping. On Sunday morning, after breakfast on your own, we'll board the coach for the short ride to the Corning Museum of Glass. After a guided tour and time for shopping and lunch, we'll hit the road again. Along the way, in addition to a rest stop we'll visit Hunter Valley Winery in Liverpool, PA. We'll get a chance to taste and purchase more wine before heading home. All along the trip Don will inform the group about the geography and the geology of the areas that we travel through to make this trip both enjoyable and educational.
