GOAL TENDING AND OTHER STUFF

Begin your goaltending by setting your sights on things you can truly achieve.

When planning your career, it doesn’t hurt to look a few years into the future. For many, the creation of a five-year plan is a positive experience, but in order to really put yourself in a good position for the future, be sure to focus on more than just goals. Because goals revolve around our hopes and dreams, you should start by uncovering your true purpose in life. Purpose is how we serve others - Purpose brings us true fulfillment. Establish your true goals around your purpose. Once you have your purpose, then it’s time to set some goals.

WORN OUT

If it’s been awhile since you’ve been on a big interview, head out to the store for a quick wardrobe repair. An approach focused on the basics is best, meaning navy blue or gray. Take care of details as well, including shoes, belt, attaché’ case and other accessories.

HEALTHY CHOICE

Looking for a career path that’s fun and helpful to others? Consider a job as a dietitian. Today’s dieticians help prevent and treat illnesses by promoting healthy eating habits. They plan and monitor food and nutrition programs and often supervise the preparation and serving of meals. While most dieticians work in medical facilities, an increasing number are employed by private consulting firms, government agencies and food-supplement industries. Others serve as personal consultants.

NOTE TO STUDENTS:

Summer internships help college students test career paths and gain the real-world experience crucial for landing a job post-graduation. So to help find a good internship for the summer, talk with your professors. You may be surprised by the number of contacts they have. If they suggest you call someone they know, ask for permission to use their name - and be sure to use it.
