CCBC schedules emergency preparedness drills in February

Jan 31, 2020

As we welcome new and returning students and visitors to campus for the Spring 2020 semester, it’s important for everyone to be familiar with CCBC emergency preparedness drills.

In mid-February, we will conduct 10 emergency drills throughout CCBC campus locations:

Tuesday, February 18
CCBC Essex (two drills: day and evening)
CCBC Randallstown (one drill: day)

Wednesday, February 19
CCBC Catonsville (two drills: day and evening)
CCBC Owings Mills (two drills: day and evening)

Thursday, February 20
CCBC Dundalk (two drills: day and evening)
CCBC Hunt Valley (one drill: day)

Each emergency drill will be one of three scenarios (severe weather, fire, or active shooter) and occur sometime during the specified day or evening. The drill and chosen scenario will be communicated via Campus Alert, alerts on CCBC desktop/classroom computers, Whelan siren, and campus e-bulletin boards. We anticipate that each exercise will take no more than 10 minutes.

Check out the Public Safety video to learn more about the department and its services, as well as our Emergency Management Procedures video for tips on what to do in case of an on-campus emergency.

Thank you for participating in these drills as we work together to make CCBC a safe and prepared college community.
