Jun 02, 2020

At the CCBC Student Life Banquet, which this year was held virtually on May 14, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Richard Rohrs was named the 2020 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.

Rohrs is a 1977 graduate of the then-Essex Community College/Johns Hopkins Physician Assistant program. He has practiced internal medicine for more than 40 years, transitioning from a clinical to an administrative role. Rohrs currently serves as assistant vice president of Provider Operations at Northwest Hospital - Lifebridge Health.

“We are so proud to recognize Richard as our Distinguished Alumnus this year,” said Ann-Marie Thornton, director of Development and Alumni Relations. “He is respected both nationally and internationally in the profession, yet he is quick to point out his roots at Essex Community College. Richard is always willing to give back to CCBC by supporting the students and the program, and he is truly a model of success for which our students strive.”
