'INSIDE THE CADMUS' at The Gallery at CCBC Catonsville through July 31
Jun 10, 2021
The work of Nigerian artist Chukwuemeka Chukwu is being featured in the exhibition INSIDE THE CADMUS at The Gallery at CCBC Catonsville through July 31, 2021.
The Gallery will host a public celebration of the exhibition 4-6 p.m., Saturday, June 26, also at the Center for the Arts Building. Tents will be set up outside the gallery so visitors can gather safely. Small groups can cycle through the exhibit and talk with Chukwu about his work. There will also be balloon pumps set up outside so that visitors can inflate balloons and add them to the installation inside.
“I blend my background in architecture within my art by abstracting elements I find in architecture to create a space that can both restrict and inspire the evolution of the work,” said Chukwu. “This propels the art to grow in a subtle, ever-changing pace that feels like the art is self-generating.”
This exhibition and programming is made possible with funding from the Maryland State Arts Council.
