CCBC Foundation Dundalk hosts Community 5K and Walk in memory of Tanya Jones on Saturday, April 23

The Community College of Baltimore County Foundation Dundalk will host the 2022 CCBC Dundalk Community 5K and 1-Mile Walk in memory of CCBC Dundalk Campus Director Tanya Jones on Saturday, April 23. Race start time is at 8:30 a.m.Jones was employed at CCBC for 18 years and was passionate about her work and dedicated to the college community. For eight years, she worked in Continuing Education in the area of criminal justice before taking on the role as CCBC Dundalk campus director. Prior to that, she worked for the Baltimore County Police Department for 16 years. Jones was active in the Dundalk community serving on the Greater Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, Dundalk Renaissance and the Optimist Club of Dundalk.
The 5K course includes the CCBC campus and local neighborhoods, while walkers will tour the Dundalk campus only. The race will be followed by music, awards and giveaways. Sign up to be a runner or walker, individually or in teams at Active.com.
Proceeds will benefit the Tanya L. Jones Scholarship Fund. Donations can be made directly to the fund at 2022 CCBC DC5K and 1-Mile Walk. The event is made possible by the generous support of sponsors including Point Breeze Credit Union, CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis and more.
Prior to the start of the race, there will be a brief program at 8 a.m. announcing details of the scholarship fund that will include President Kurtinitis, members of Jones’ family and event sponsors.
