The Court Jesters Young People’s Theatre takes the stage at Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, in residence at CCBC Essex, to perform Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR., July 7 - 16. All performances will be held in the Administration Building Lecture Hall at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.

Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR., book by Dennis Kelly, music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

Directed by Liz Boyer Hunnicutt, Matilda JR. features McKenzie Nace as Matilda, Colton Roberts as Bruce, Gracie Roberts as Lavender, Clover Wellons as Miss Trunchbull and Miranda Cockey as Miss Honey, as well as a full ensemble of local children ages 5-18.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. performance schedule:
July 7, 14 at 7 p.m.
July 8, 9, 15, 16 at 1 p.m.
