Music therapy workshop
Alicia L. Barksdale, DMA, LPMT, is the Music Therapy Program Director at Washington Adventist University, and was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to the Maryland State Licensure Board of Audiologists, Hearing-Aid Dispensers, Speech Language Pathologists, and Music Therapists in November 2021. As a board-certified music therapist and music educator, Dr. Barksdale developed and implemented music therapy programs for students in non-public special education schools and taught in Maryland public schools as a choral and general music educator. Dr. Barksdale will present a workshop about music therapy programs, methods, and adaptive music education.
