Community College of Baltimore County is pleased to announce the Benjamin Banneker Planetarium will present four shows this spring season, which opens Friday, April 12, 2024 at CCBC Catonsville. Shows include:
“Full Moon Folklore” 8 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024
There’s more to the “man in the moon” than means the eye! Learn some of the stories and names associated with the different types of full moon, and where they came from. This show is suitable for adults and children over the age of 8. (Outside observing afterwards, weather permitting.)
“Double Feature Under the Dome!” 10 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024

Discover how a young boy learned to love the dark in “The Boy Who Hated the Nighttime” and how a young duckling learned why the moon changes shape in “Dudley the Curious Duckling.”
“Back to the Moon!” 8 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2024
We’ve successfully launched the Artemis 1 rocket on an unmanned journey to the moon. Artemis 2 is scheduled to launch this November with a full human crew that will test the various components needed for a manned landing near the south pole of the moon in 2025. Learn about NASA’s plans and the pros and the cons of returning to the moon. This show is suitable for adults and children over the age of 8. (Outside observing afterwards, weather permitting.)

Many years ago, we sent people to the moon. Now we are going back and want to use it as a base to explore Mars. Learn more about Mars and its secrets that we want to uncover.
All planetarium shows are free and open to the public. Shows are held in Room 030A (Benjamin Banneker Planetarium) located in the Mathematics and Science Hall building at CCBC Catonsville, 800 South Rolling Rd.
