CCBC presents: A Bright New Boise by Samuel D. Hunter
Show will run Oct. 10 – 15 at CCBC Essex
In the bleak corporate breakroom of an Idaho Hobby Lobby, we find Will, a man who’s fled his hometown after a scandal at his Evangelical church and is trying to reconnect with his estranged son Alex. While privately praying for Rapture to come, Will bonds with his coworker Anna, evades his foul-mouthed boss, Pauline, and must manage Alex’s brother Leroy’s attempts to expose his past. A Bright New Boise is an empathetic and darkly funny drama about the meager profits of modern faith.
