More than 800 proud graduates participated in this year's ceremony.

Community College of Baltimore County proudly celebrated the achievements of its Class of 2025 on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at CCBC Essex. More than 800 graduates participated in the commencement ceremony, crossing the stage to mark the culmination of their academic journeys, cheered on by beaming families and friends. This year's graduating class comprised over 2,700 candidates in total.

CCBC President Sandra Kurtinitis addressed the graduates, acknowledging their diverse accomplishments. Dr. Kurtinitis specifically recognized several standout groups, including high school seniors who earned both their diploma and an associate degree through the Early College Access Program (ECAP). Also highlighted were graduates from the Degrees to Succeed program, ensuring their smooth transition to four-year institutions, as well as Honors College students, student-athletes, international students representing 42 different nations, and dedicated veteran and active military students.

In her remarks, Dr. Kurtinitis emphasized the graduates' potential, stating, “Today we are celebrating 2,700 unstoppable graduates. Each of you now joins the hundreds of thousands of CCBC graduates – nurses, teachers, artists, scientists, dancers, poets, entrepreneurs. You name it, they have walked across this same stage since our founding year in 1957. We are excited to think about what you will accomplish over the next decade.”

The commencement address was delivered by Isaac Njoroge, the 2025 President’s Distinguished Graduate. Njoroge, an information technology major, will be continuing his studies at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Reflecting on his time at CCBC, Njoroge shared, “At CCBC, I didn’t just grow academically, I came into myself. I found my voice. I found my purpose. I learned how to lead not by speaking the loudest, but by showing up, every single day.”
