The Brothers Size runs from Oct. 9 – 14 at CCBC Essex.


Baltimore County, MD (Sept. 15, 2025) – Community College of Baltimore County Performing Arts presents The Brothers Size by Tarell Alvin McCraney, Oct. 9 - 14 in the Studio Theatre at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard.

From the award-winning writer of Moonlight comes The Brothers Size—a gripping story of belonging and brotherhood. Ogun, a hardworking mechanic with a broken heart, lives with his aimless younger brother, Oshoosi, just out of prison. But when Oshoosi’s former cellmate, Elegba, reappears, Ogun’s loyalty is pushed to the limit. Rooted in Yoruba mythology and rich with poetry and ritual, this is theatre that’s both powerful and unforgettable.

  • 7 p.m. Oct. 10, 11, 13
  • 3 p.m. Oct. 12 (American Sign Language interpreted)
  • 11:10 a.m. Oct. 13

Content warning: This play contains descriptions and depictions of violence, sexual situations and racism. CBC’s production The Brothers Size is directed by CCBC faculty Jen Rabbitt Ring, with scenic and lighting design by Terri Raulie, costumes by Jess Rassp, and sound design by MaeAnn Ross. Technical directors are Jason Randolph and David Martin. The production coordinator is Damon Krometis with Cicada Naydan as the stage manager and Raphael Massie as Dramaturg.

Tickets are $10 general admission; $5 students, seniors, CCBC faculty and staff; and free for currently enrolled CCBC students with ID. Tickets can be purchased at the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787), online at www.ccbctickets.com or at the door one hour prior to the performances.
