Exhibition in partnership with Maryland Museum of Natural Sciences pairs objects from the museum’s collection with works by contemporary artists.

Baltimore County, Md. (Oct. 21, 2026)–The Gallery at CCBC Essex presents “ImagiNATURE (It’s more than you think!)” from Oct. 5 – Nov. 20 in the Arts and Humanities Hall, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. A reception on Oct. 22, 6-8 p.m., is open to the public.

Created in partnership with the Maryland Museum of Natural Sciences, the exhibition pairs objects from the museum's collection with works by contemporary artists whose practices explore, interpret, and investigate the natural world. By bringing art and science into dialogue, the exhibition offers new ways of understanding the environments, organisms, and forces that shape our world.

The Maryland Museum of Natural Sciences is a playground for all who are driven by curiosity, an inclusive hub for scientific research and discovery, and a proving ground for the next generation of naturalists. Housing the largest interdisciplinary natural history collections in Maryland, the museum tells stories written in rocks, fossils, minerals, plants, animals, fungi and more. On Oct.1, it became the official state museum of natural sciences. The museum has free public open hours plus a full calendar of field trips, classes, and events. Read more at marylandnature.org
