Skills that open doors.

Whether you're preparing for college, improving your job prospects or simply want to boost your basic academic skills, CCBC offers supportive and affordable pathways to help you succeed.

Our Adult Basic Education programs are designed for adult learners who want to strengthen their foundational skills in reading, writing and math.

Why choose CCBC?

  • Personalized learning experience. Your journey begins with an in-person assessment to determine your current skill level. We’ll use this information to recommend classes that meet your needs and goals.
  • Flexible class options. Daytime and evening classes are available to fit your schedule, with ongoing support every step of the way.
  • Low or no cost: Many of our courses are tuition-free, thanks to grant funding from the Maryland Department of Labor.

Get started

To register for a program, follow these steps:

  1. Register for an in-person assessment session. This will help us get to know you and your academic needs better.
  2. Attend your assessment session, which will include testing in math and reading, as well as an overview of the program.
  3. We will schedule a time for you to return for program registration, which will include advisement.

Are you looking to take the next step in your career? Whether you want to brush up on Excel, take a small business management course or even start a new career in real estate, CCBC will help you get there.
