We get that starting college can seem overwhelming. That's why CCBC offers a variety of resources and support services to help you make a smooth transition to college life, connect with your peers and the CCBC community, and develop the academic and personal skills you need to succeed.
First-Year Experience (FYE) is a selection of resources designed to foster your transition to CCBC through new student programming, peer mentorships and more.
All first-year students are paired with a peer mentor during their first semester. You can meet with your mentor on a regular basis or check in from time-to-time — it's up to you!
The Summer Bridge program helped Alona Harris discover resources on campus, meet friends and locate classes before her first semester of college! She attributes the Summer Bridge program to her success at CCBC which ultimately led her to her current role at CCBC. Alona now coordinates the very program she attended as a freshman!
