Help Paying for College
You’re not in this by yourself. There are many sources to help you pay for college. The CCBC Financial Aid Office is here to help you!First things first: What is financial aid?
Financial aid is money to help pay for college. You may apply and receive financial aid from the federal government, Maryland Higher Education Commission, and/or CCBC. Financial aid can include grants, scholarships, loans and student employment.
Are you eligible for financial aid?
The financial aid process begins with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Department of Education uses FAFSA data to calculate the estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) to determine a student's eligibility. The majority of CCBC financial assistance is based on federal, need-based requirements. This is determined by subtracting the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from the student's budget (a standard budget calculated by the College).
