Graduation

Learn about the process of formally completing your academic program.

You're almost to the finish line! As you prepare for the next chapter, it's time to initiate the graduation application process. Here's a quick guide to help you navigate the steps involved.

How it works:

Students can graduate in May, August and December.

Before you apply...

Check your student record

It takes our team a few weeks to review your eligibility for graduation. Access SIMON through myCCBC to make sure your information is up to date ahead of time!

when you apply...

How to apply

To apply for graduation, you'll need to complete the application and submit it and payment before the deadline. If you’re earning more than one degree or certificate, you will need to submit a separate application for each.

How to pay

In order to receive your diploma, you will need to pay a nonrefundable graduation fee. The fee is $75 for a degree and $50 for a certificate. If you are applying for both, the total fee is $75.

  • Online: Submit your application by mail without payment, and we’ll add a charge to your student account after we receive your application. You can then pay the fee online by accessing your account through myCCBC.
  • Mail: Include a check or money order with your mailed application.
  • In-Person: Submit a completed application with payment at the Bursar's office on any CCBC campus (see location information below).

Review Process

Once we receive your application, we'll conduct a formal audit of your academic record to make sure you've met the graduation requirements.

  • Expect an email in 2 - 3 weeks. We will let you know if you are on track to graduate or if you still need to take additional courses.
  • We'll conduct a second review at the end of the semester (once final grades are posted). Again, we'll let you know via email if you do not meet graduation requirements.
Graduation Requirements

CCBC uses a cumulative GPA to determine graduation eligibility and honors designation. This is calculated by combining both undergraduate and legacy GPAs.

Getting your degree or certificate

You've applied for graduation. We've reviewed your file. You meet the requirements. Now what?

  • If you're earning a degree, be on the lookout for information regarding our annual Commencement ceremony, which takes place in June at CCBC Essex. You are not required to participate, but we'd love to celebrate your accomplishment with you!
  • Your degree or certificate will show an official conferral date of August 31, December 31 or May 31.
  • Diplomas are ordered using your name, email, and mailing address on file in SIMON. Please confirm that your information is accurate or submit changes before the conferral date.
  • Degrees and certificates will post on transcripts approximately 2 - 4 weeks after the end of the semester.
  • All graduates will receive a digital and paper copy of their diploma through Parchment Diploma Services.
  • Parchment sends diplomas via mail and email approximately 6-8 weeks after the end of the semester. Parchment will contact you via your CCBC student email account to confirm your mailing address and share shipping updates. You will have 72 hours after receipt of this email to confirm your address or make changes.
  • Need to request a replacement degree or certificate? You can order a replacement degree or certificate directly through Parchment.
