International Student Admissions

The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is authorized under Federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students. To apply to CCBC, you will need to submit all of the required documents to International Student Services by June 1 for the Fall semester or November 1 for the Spring semester. (If you are already attending a school in the U.S. and would like to transfer to CCBC, read the application instructions for international transfer students.)

Along with a CCBC application for admission, international students will also need to submit the following:
  1. A certified copy of high school transcripts in English, that verifies completion of secondary school
  2. Proof of English Language Proficiency with one of the following:
    • Official TOEFL score report with a minimum score of 450 paper-based/133 computerized/45 iBT (Send TOEFL codes to CCBC code # 5137)
    • IELTS score report with a 5.0 or higher
    • Note: Students from English speaking countries are not required to take the TOEFL or IELTS.

  3. Declaration of Financial Support form
  4. Original financial statements to verify sufficient funds. These statements must:
    • Be written in English on bank letterhead
    • Display the sponsor’s name as the owner of the account
    • Be less than 6 months old
    • Show a minimum of $26,411 in U.S. dollars
  5. Personal Data sheet
  6. A copy of student’s passport
After you have submitted all of the above documents to the International Student Services office, an ISS counselor will review them. Upon approval, a CCBC acceptance letter, an I-20 and information about the I-901 SEVIS fee will be mailed. For fastest delivery, please ask our staff about delivery through E-Ship Global or include a pre-paid DHL or Fed Ex envelope with your mailing address. You will need these documents to apply for your F-1 Visa. The U.S. Embassy, not the college, makes the final decision on granting the F-1 student visa.

If you have questions, please contact CCBC Catonsville at 443.840.5005; catonsvilleiss@ccbcmd.edu or CCBC Essex at 443.840.1005; essexiss@ccbcmd.edu and an international student counselor will be glad to assist you.

Note: As a student with an F-1 visa, you are required to enroll full time during the fall and spring semesters and will be charged the international student tuition rate. F-1 Students are not eligible for federal aid. You will be expected to continue to pay for all of your expenses including tuition, fees, books, transportation, health insurance, housing, and food for the duration of your studies at CCBC.
