CCBC in three words: Traditional, Humbling, Challenging

Evan Clement, originally from San Diego, California, received a scholarship to play on the CCBC Essex Men’s Lacrosse team, so he moved to Baltimore and started classes at CCBC in 2017.

“Earning a scholarship to play lacrosse for CCBC is an honor that I am so thankful for,” said Clement. “Being on the team has given me a sense of belonging and a friend group for life.”

The General Studies graduate was pleased with the flexibility of CCBC’s class schedule and the many options that were available to him.

“I am able to attend classes in the mornings to have more free time for lacrosse practice in the afternoons and work at night,” said Clement, who also liked the convenience of online courses that allow him the freedom to work at his own pace and travel outside of Maryland, whether personally or for lacrosse.

He chose the General Studies program because it allowed him to complete needed prerequisites while giving him more time to explore options and decide on a major. When he was not on the lacrosse field, Clement was a CCBC Fresh Faces student ambassador, helping to spread the word about all of the great opportunities at CCBC.

“It’s really important for students to be involved on campus to discover other interests and make new friends,” he said. “Students should make the most of their experience at CCBC and be sure to have fun while they are here.”

Clement graduated from CCBC in 2021 and plans to transfer to a four-year university to study Management or Social Science while playing lacrosse. He would like to pursue a career in Sustainability Management.
