Early Childhood Education was a great major for Hunter Lubawski, who always knew she wanted to be a teacher. The College Promise Scholarship made it affordable.
Every time Hunter Lubawski has the opportunity to work with children she gets a little happier, so she knew early on that she wanted to be an Early Childhood Education major and inspire all children to have a passion for learning. When it came time to choose a college, family, finances and an opportunity to be challenged academically were important factors that helped influence her decision.
"Enrolling in the Honors program at CCBC was the perfect choice for me, because it feeds me both academically and financially while giving me a more concentrated college class experience,” said Hunter. "And, taking classes at CCBC lets me stay close to my family so I can help care for my two siblings."
My goal is to come out of college with little or no student loans or debt.
Hunter, who regularly performs in Dundalk Community Theatre productions, has been teaching children’s dance classes since she was 14 years old. The flexibility of CCBC's mix of traditional, online and blended classes allowed her to create a schedule that works for her. And because she qualified for the Baltimore County College Promise scholarship, Hunter was able to attend CCBC without worrying about tuition and fees. “The College Promise program made CCBC very affordable for me,” she said. In 2021, Hunter earned her associate degree in Teaching at CCBC and will continue her studies at Towson University through their Early Childhood Education program. Her ultimate goal is to become a kindergarten teacher while continuing to teach dance classes.
