Personal Trainer Certificate, Credit Certificate
The Personal Trainer certificate prepares students for a professional career as either a personal trainer or a fitness specialist. Students learn how to conduct physical and health risk assessments, interpret assessment results, design exercise programs, provide fitness instruction and supervise fitness facilities. Upon successful completion of the Personal Trainer Certificate, students are required to sit for a certification exam with the American Council on Exercise.
Upon successful completion of this certificate, students will be able to:
- develop safe and effective individualized exercise prescriptions based on an individual's goals and health history;
- conduct fitness assessments in laboratory and field-test settings in a fitness, hospital, or wellness facility; and
- successfully complete the requirements for the American Council on Exercise Personal Training Certification program.
