Engineering

Design. Build. Improve.

Engineers and affiliated specializations work to analyze, design, construct and continually improve the world around us. Our engineering programs prepare you to enter a wide range of exciting and challenging careers in engineering disciplines such as civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical and more.

Jump right into a career or prepare for transfer to a four-year program to earn a bachelor's degree. Train in related technologies vital to various types of engineering. No matter which route you take, at CCBC, you'll develop the hands-on and academic skills identified by our industry partners to help you succeed in the real world.

Engineering

Prepare for transfer to earn a Bachelor's of Science degree in engineering. Engineers improve the world around us through mathematical- and science-based innovation. Engineers are problem solvers and follow diverse career paths. As engineers are in demand, their starting salaries are often among the highest paid to college graduates.

These programs place a strong emphasis on math (calculus) and science (physics and chemistry). Typically, the courses during the first two years of an engineering degree are very similar for most engineering disciplines, giving you flexibility as you prepare for transfer.

Associate of Science (A.S.)

Prepares you for transfer in most engineering disciplines.

Associate of Science in Engineering (A.S.E.)

Prepares you for transfer in these specific disciplines.

Engineering Technology

Prepare for a career as an engineering technician in one of several disciplines.

Engineering technicians perform many of the functions of an engineer except for design, and generally work at the direction of an engineer.

Our program provides you with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the electrical/electronic, civil and mechanical engineering fields while learning the foundations of engineering principles. The program is application-oriented and requires the completion of just one math class (College Algebra and Trigonometry), and one science class (Fundamentals of Physics I).

Computer-Aided Design for Architecture and Engineering

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is the use of specialized computer hardware and software to generate drawings used in the architectural, civil, engineering and mechanical and other disciplines.

Virtually everything that is constructed or built today is first designed on a CAD system. Our graduates have found employment and career advancement at many government agencies and private corporations in management, design or IT fields.

Geospatial Applications

Studying Geospatial Applications equips you with analytical tools to solve real-world challenges using geographical perspectives. The field combines geography, data analysis and technology to help us understand and visualize spatial patterns and relationships. It opens up various career opportunities in areas such as urban planning, environmental management, transportation logistics and many more.

Whether it's identifying suitable locations for new infrastructure projects or analyzing the impact of policy changes on communities, the study of Geospatial Applications provides valuable insights to support planning and decision-making processes.

CCBC is one of only four community colleges on the east coast to offer a degree program in Geospatial Applications.

Survey Technology

This is a two-year degree program designed to prepare students for a career in Land Surveying. As a land surveyor, you can work in both the public and private sectors, including government agencies, real estate development organizations, construction companies and engineering firms.

The demand for skilled land surveyors continues to grow as urbanization and infrastructure development projects increase in the region. As a land surveyor, you will play a crucial role in urban planning projects like building roads, bridges, pipelines or determining flood zones accurately.
