Collect pertinent materials like unofficial transcripts for all U.S. college-level coursework and testing completed. Use these to help you complete the application.

If you have never before applied through the SHP CAS system, then create an account in SHP CAS through the applicant portal and follow the directions to complete the applications.

If you applied using the SHP CAS System before, login and verify that all areas are correct. If you have taken additional courses, you must add them and send an official transcript showing the completed or in-progress courses.

Once all sections of the application have a green check mark, you will be able to pay the $50 non‐refundable application fee. It is better to submit the application at least a month before the application deadline: June 15 for Fall start.

Submit your official US college transcripts, including CCBC, electronically to the SHP CAS. This is found in the Academic History portion in the SHP CAS application. Under each college that you listed as attended, there is an Order button. Click on it to access the transcript companies to request your transcript(s).

If your college only sends hard copies through the mail, include the Transcript Request Form found in the Academic History area of the SHP CAS application. The form connects your transcript to your application account. Both documents should be mailed to:

CLEP, AP and non-US college transcript evaluations (AACRAO, WES, etc.) should be sent directly to the CCBC Registrar’s office, for transfer of credit to occur. Complete the Transfer Evaluation Request Form to ensure that your submitted transcripts will be evaluated.

It can take four to six weeks for any transcript to be received, evaluated and verified. Check your SHP CAS account frequently, by clicking on the “Check Status” button. It is better to send all transcripts as soon as possible.

After you submit your SHP CAS application and it is verified, the SHP Admission Office will send an email requesting that a supplemental application be completed. There is no additional fee associated with the supplemental application.

Expect communication regarding your application to the email address that you entered into the SHP CAS.

1. A 2.0 grade point average will be required for graduation in the A.A.S. degree program. A "C" will be required for transfer from other colleges. Phase I, General Education, transfer credits must come from a regionally accredited college.
2. Transfer credit for the Business-Science requirements (Accounting, Computers, Thanatochemistry, Human Anatomy, Microbiology, and Pathology) is subject to approval by the Mortuary Science Department. Credit will not be given in transfer for courses taken more than 5 (five) years prior to a student’s eligibility for Phase II courses. A minimum of “C” is required before any consideration is given for transfer credits in Phase II and Phase III. In addition, transfer credits must come from a regionally accredited college and that college must be accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education.The Business-Science requirements (Accounting, Computers, Thanatochemistry, Human Anatomy, Microbiology, and Pathology) must be fulfilled within 5 (five) years prior to a student’s eligibility for Phase II courses.
3. Students who have taken two college level Business Law courses, equivalent to MNGT 140 and MNGT 141, will be considered for transfer credit for MORS 142, Mortuary Laws and Practice II. Proper documentation must be submitted.
4. Students who have taken two college level Human Anatomy and Physiology courses, equivalent to BIOL 220 and BIOL 221 will be considered for transfer credit for BIOL 130, Human Anatomy for Mortuary Science. Proper documentation must be submitted.
5. ACCT 101 is the required course. A special section of ACCT 101 will be offered once each year in the second summer session.
