About Hood College

Hood College is an independent liberal arts college founded in 1893 and located in Frederick, Maryland. It was first founded as a women’s college by the Potomac synod of the reformed church of the United States.

Hood is located in a fantastic college town; students are within walking distance of shops, galleries, restaurants and a vibrant downtown. Our proximity to Washington, D.C., Baltimore and the I-270 technology corridor provides students countless internship and research opportunities.
