The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) proudly celebrates the PNC Foundation for its generous $95,000 grant supporting the Building Bridges to Recovery initiative, a program created to help small businesses rebound after the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.
With PNC’s investment, CCBC conducted extensive outreach across Dundalk, listening directly to business owners and adapting the program to meet real, immediate needs. What began as an eight-week workshop series evolved into a more impactful six-month Small Business Accelerator, offering monthly classes, twice-monthly one-on-one mentoring, and $3,000 in seed capital for each participating business.
PNC’s funding enabled CCBC to provide:
- Customized business training and personalized coaching
- Financial support for marketing, inventory, and professional services
- A seven session Community Economic Development & Advocacy course
- Networking events and connections to community partners
Every one of the ten Accelerator businesses completed the program, developing actionable growth plans and strengthening their ability to navigate post crisis challenges. Participants reported stronger peer connections, improved marketing and financial strategies, and renewed confidence in their businesses' future. Testimonials highlighted the value of mentorship, practical tools, and the encouragement of a supportive entrepreneurial network.
Thanks to the PNC Foundation’s partnership, CCBC delivered a responsive, community centered program that helped stabilize local businesses and strengthen Dundalk’s economic resilience. The momentum generated by this first cohort will continue to shape CCBC’s small business support efforts for years to come.
